ESG Disclosure and Corporate Reputation: The Moderating Role of Green Innovation

Vita Aprilina, Nurma Risa, Anelyn A. Janaban

Abstract

This study aims to investigate how Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) disclosures affect corporate reputation in the manufacturing sector and how Green Innovation moderates this relationship. ESG is now seen as a symbol of a company's ethical commitment and social responsibility rather than just a reporting tool in the face of public demands for accountability and transparency for sustainable business practices. This study evaluates all listed businesses on the Indonesia Stock Exchange from 2020 to 2024, excluding businesses in the banking and service industries. This quantitative study analyzes secondary data from sustainability reports and annual reports. The study shows that ESG disclosure improves corporate reputation. Environmental and social disclosures are evident, while governance disclosures have no significant impact. Furthermore, ESG disclosure and corporate reputation are more closely related to Green Innovation. The results suggest that implementing Green innovation and transparent ESG information can build corporate reputation.
